Tabiano spa water originates from springs and wells; this cold water is rich in minerals like sulphur, sulphate, calcium and magnesium (dry residue at 180°C 3,660 mg/l). Also, it has a high content of bicarbonate (approximately 600 mg/l) and of hydrogen sulphide.

In the 1800s, it was already known as the most sulphurous water in Europe, and it is still considered as one of the spa waters with the highest concentration of sulphates and sulphurous gases.  It originates from the erosion caused by rainwater washing away rocks of decayed limestone dating back to the Messinian age; after a long way through the depths of the Earth, the water that comes to the surface is filtered and rich in precious minerals dating back to millions of years ago.

Therapeutic Indications

Tabiano spa water is successfully used for the treatment and prevention of diseases of the nose, throat and ears, of the bronchial tubes and of the skin.
Its high content of mineral salts like sulphates, calcium, bicarbonate and magnesium makes this water especially suitable for catarrhal, hyperreactive and allergic diseases of the respiratory system. It is also a successful remedy for skin diseases and in the aftermath of burns and scalds.
As a drink, it helps liver functionality and has antioxidant properties.

Sulphur, a chemical element commonly found in nature and a component of skin and appendages, is the secret of this wonderful spa water.
The combination between this sulphurous-sulphate-calcic-magnesic water, which flows from natural springs, and mud, which absorbs all the active principles of the water, has powerful antioxidant and reinvigorating effects on skin. For this reason, both the T-SPATIUM wellness centre and the Stabilimento Termale Respighi offer treatments particularly suitable for the face and body that combine mud and spa water – i.e. massages, mud masks and cleansing, hydrating and nourishing treatments that make even the dullest skin brighter and elastic.
